A NEW band is aiming to top the charts with the release of a first single.
The record will mean excitement for both the band, SF-Control,
and its record producers, The Grid Studios, in Luton.
The single, a double 'A' release called Sirens/His Masters Ways
will be the studio's first, on its new record label, and comes
out on Saturday.
There are three band members, all in their late twenties.
Roland Alderson and his wife Lynda, live in Toddington,
and the other member, Derek Vann, comes from Leicester.
Roland plays synthesizers Lynda plays the bass and Derek
is the guitarist/singer.
The band members write all their own material and all three are
song writers.
Talking about the music, Lynda who works at Rothamsted Experimental
Station in Harpenden said: "The controlling power bass and hardcore
dance electronic drums provide drive to vicious guitar and
moody vocals ,synths flood and spin a hypnotic web of dreams."
She added: "Some people have said we're a little bit like early
Duran Duran, Pink Floyd an Genesis."
Their main influences stem from Indie bands such as New Order and
they believe that the best way to achieve things in the music world
is to take notice of other up and coming bands.
Lynda said:
"We go to lots of other gigs. which we believe keeps us
in touch with what's going on.
"The band scene is competitive, but in a friendly way."
SF-Control was first set up five years ago when the band also had a drummer.
They have a number of gigs coming up to launch the single.
