Group progammed for
big success
* SF Coontrol are :Lynda & Roland Alderson; Derek Vann.
A COMPUTER program provided the ideal name for a new band who have just released their first single.
SF-Control, alias Lynda and Roland Alderson and Derek Vann
(pictured) are hoping the double A-side single will secure
them a recording deal.
SF-Control are relatively young, formed at the end of 1989,
but already its original material is going down well.
Band member Lynda, from Toddington, describes the group's sound
as being a mixture of rock, pop and dance music.
She plays bass
and programmes the drum machine while husband Roland plays
synthesizer and Leicester-based Derek adds the vocals and guitar.
Despite the obvious electronic input, Linda is at pains to point
out that the band is not just another synthesizer group.
And she adds: No-one has yet been able to pin us down to sounding
like any one group - we hope we are creating our own sound."
SF-Control's single,Sirens/His Master's Ways. will be available free
when the group launches it at Esquires night club in Bedford on
Sunday June 23.
